Two papers accepted at ISHS 2019

Two of our papers on humour recognition have been accepted for presentation at ISHS 2019, the 2019 Conference of the International Society for Humor Studies. The conference will take place at the University of Texas at Austin from June 24 to 28, 2019.

The first paper, "Detecting Humorous Images by Caption Analysis", is co-authored by Dr. Tristan Miller (OFAI), Yevgeniy Puzikov (Technische Universität Darmstadt), and Malou Ockenfels (Netlight Consulting). It explores various methods for detecting humorous images by analyzing manually or automatically generated captions.

The second paper, "A Bayesian Approach for Predicting the Humorousness of One-liners", proposes a method for learning to quantify the funniness of jokes by exploiting human preference judgments. The article is joint work between Dr. Tristan Miller (OFAI) and Dr. Edwin Simpson, Erik-Lân Do Dinh, and Prof. Iryna Gurevych (Technische Universität Darmstadt).
